Prior to your child's acceptance to Kids Castle, the director will arrange an interview with you and your child, along with a review of your registration packet.  This will help insure proper placement of your child at our center.  To insure proper adjustment of your child to Kids Castle, the first month of enrollment will be considered a trial period.

At Kids Castle, we believe that all children have personal
rights and are entitled to feel safe and happy.  Therefore,
if at any time your child is observed to have unacceptable
behaviors, which may threaten the health, safety or personal
rights of other children or our staff, we will immediately
discuss our concerns with you. This may result in a two-week probation/warning period for your child and the implementation of a plan of action.  Following this warning period, a formal meeting between the Kids Castle director, teacher and parents will be scheduled if no improvement in your child's behavior is noted.  At that time, your child's enrollment at Kids Castle may be terminated.  If a parent decides to withdraw their child, parents will be required to provide a two-week written notice to Kids Castle.  Upon proper notice, a refund for any amounts paid in excess of the two-week period will be provided.  Kids Castle fees and contract are subject to change with 30 days written notice given to parents prior to the effective date of the change

Occasional field trips may alter this schedule; additional fees may be charged for field trips; parents will be notified in advance.   Basic services of the Kids Castle child care and activity program include indoor and outdoor activities, and care for children ages 18 months through 10 years old.

If your child requires medication, you must sign a medication permission form, and the medicine must be in a sealed container, labeled with your child's name , along with instructions as to dosage amounts and times to be given.

Parents must sign their child in and out daily in the attendance book placed on the podium in the parent's area near the entrance of the center.
Since Kids Castle believes we are partners with parents in the development of your children, we welcome you to visit your child at any time during normal operation hours. Kids Castle has furnished a full video surveillance system, which will enable parents with internet access to view their child when visits in person are not possible.  At Kids Castle we believe that all parents have personal rights and are also entitled to feel safe and happy, upon the placement of their child in our care.  We also encourage any parent to volunteer their time and any special talents to Kids Castle, if they would like to help in their child's class.
All the staff at the castle are cleared and approved by the state. All teachers at KIDS CASTLE are state certified and dedicated professionals who love their job. The staff student ratio at KIDS CASTLE is never above 1 to 6 for the toddlers and 1 to 12 for the older children. Our staff meets monthly to receive on-job training and to plan and develop new activities for the children.  Always feel free to call upon your child's teacher and our Child Care Director if have any questions or concerns.
Kids Castle is equipped with a video recording/surveillance to protect the children. All child activity areas except bathrooms have cameras.  The video recordings are transferred to a DVD disk daily and kept secure by the Kids Castle ownership.

The Castle can offer parents/authorized representatives a password to view their children in real time on our web site while you are away.

Kids Castle records a photo of your child which is maintained with your child's records. Photos of authorized persons picking up the children are also requested and maintained to protect the child. Your authorization to allow photos and video recording of you child is mandatory to attend Kids Castle
.
Children with a contagious illness or fever should not be brought to Kids Castle.  Children are given a health check upon arrival prior to sign-in.  This will insure the good health of the other children attending.   We have facilities for one sick child, this space is reserved for a child that  becomes ill while in our care, the parent will be contacted and requested to take the child home  All children ages 18 months through 6 yrs must be immunized, or get their immunizations up to date within 30 days of placement in Kids Castle.
Please do not send candy, gum , or toys with your child to Kids Castle. Your child's teacher will advise you of the sharing day assigned to your child, and your child can bring an item from home on that day to share.  Kids Castle will not allow guns or fighting toys at any time, so please help your child with their choices of toys to share.

If your child will attend full days at Kids Castle, please be sure to provide an extra change of clothing (appropriate for the weather), a blanket for nap-time, and if required, an appropriate amount of diapers and wipes.  Place your child's items in a pillowcase marked with your child's name.  The items will be sent home at the end of the week for laundering.

You may wish to visit our bulletin board from time to time to see your child's scheduled activities.  You will then be able to interact with your child on her or his day during your quality time.  We especially encourage this family activity even if you child is not talking yet.
Kids Castle is not just about play, we believe children wish to learn.  You child will have at least 6 separate activities during the day.  These activities are designed to encourage you child's desire to learn and then to have time to try out this new knowledge (free play). You will find the Castle rich with learning activities, computers, and toys. Not very many "interactive" toys and computers, however,  we do have interactive and highly motivated teachers and staff.
Kids Castle operates a toddler (18 month to 30 month) program.  Toddlers are kept separate from the older children in the Castle Kinder Room, except for planned activities, such as movies and walks.  If your toddler turns 30 months of age while enrolled at Kids Castle you will be notified by us to meet and review your child's placement  with the preschoolers.  If it is determined that your child is ready for the preschool age group we will require your written permission to do so, which will be kept in your file.
Toilet training is a high priority at kids castle. Children starting at the age of 21 months will begin our toilet training program.  This program will work at lot quicker and easier with the full cooperation of the parents.  We start with training pants, "pull-ups" and develop some simple verbal skills. These verbal skills or cue's will need to be encouraged 24 hours a day. See our toilet training plan outline.
